The awesome folks over at Paramount Pictures’ Marketing Department were kind enough to send over these gorgeous high resolution versions of the previously released photos.
We’re only thirty four days out from the release of Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and the release of the teaser trailer for The Last Airbender! The anticipation is really starting to…heat up! Get it?

Pretty! Still wish Zuko’s scar was a bit more, but we’ll see how it all unwraps.
Told you the scar was detailed, not worn.

looking better though. you can now see a purple strain in the scar. and who knows. it may be lighter because of the cold

I actually have to say I like the ponytail and the bald zuko better.
Props to whoever made the photo. It looks great.
July 6, 2009 at 11:41 pm
yah i totaly for the pony tail zuko. I looks ore like the cartoon.
June 14, 2009 at 3:35 am |
Why isn’t Zuko bald and where’s his ponytale? Him cutting it off was a very important part of the second season. A whole bunch of symbolism about him having to give up his life as a prince etc etc. Not only that but he has both eyebrows and I can barely make out his scar.
June 20, 2009 at 12:26 am |
where is iroh? i hope he is in the movie
July 3, 2009 at 5:37 pm |
In the picture of Dev at the south pole set(the first picture on the page), Iroh is on the right hand side of the picture. He’s the one with the black hat and the helmet in his hand.
June 20, 2009 at 3:54 am |
ya, he is in the movie!! he might be sleeping on the ship! hehehe….:D XD
June 25, 2009 at 7:04 am |
Ugggh. Why doesn’t Zuko have a ponytail? The fact that you can barely see his scar or Aang’s tattoos bother me, they’re supposed to be the most dominate features. The guy who plays Zuko isn’t attractive at all and looks way older than the rest of the Gaang. The kid who plays Aang is really creepy looking, like a demon possessed child or something. I’m all for changing things for the movie, but somethings you just can’t change. I’m not looking forward to this.
June 25, 2009 at 7:55 pm |
I’m not racist or anything…but I don’t like the way they made Zuko look, he’s SUPOST to be chinese, but he looks Indian (ya know, like the people from India)….
June 25, 2009 at 9:08 pm |
he doesnt even has his sweet mohawk ponytail!
June 27, 2009 at 3:25 pm |
Trust me, you DON’T wanna see how it’d look like.
June 25, 2009 at 11:24 pm |
i think jesse macartney would be a better zuko cause his hair looks more like it in the last season and aang is weird
June 25, 2009 at 11:39 pm |

June 26, 2009 at 7:19 pm |

June 29, 2009 at 2:16 pm |
screw this! I was supposed to be looking forward to this movie. they jacked it! Zuko was supposed to look hot, dammit! ><
June 29, 2009 at 2:18 pm |
aang looks like an 8 year old and zuko is messed up!
June 29, 2009 at 2:19 pm |
WHY aang is 10 years old boy… why zuko doesnt have scar ?
I wanna other aang… white… not some kinda baby or ashian
July 1, 2009 at 11:16 pm |
you can see Aang’s belly button
August 5, 2009 at 12:23 am |
zukko looks very ugly on the pictures he acutally looked cuter in the cartoon with his hair down
September 27, 2009 at 11:51 pm |
What the heck? What’s up with Zuko’s almost-non-existent scar?!?! I wish he didn’t have an eyebrow, it would make it better. And why did they get rid of his trademark bald head/ ponytail?! Plus, he’s so dark….
Ah well i should stop complaining. Maybe it’ll be better in the movie.
Aaang’s okay. I like his tattoo
September 27, 2009 at 11:52 pm |
oops i wrot Aaang lol. I meant Aang
November 12, 2009 at 8:34 pm |
I respect all opinions, but it kinda drives me crazy and mad all that comments “complaining” that the cast doesn’t look loke to the cartoonn characters and blah blah blah X(…
Honestly, I think that copying exactly as it is, the cartoon to a movie wouldn’t have a little bit of a challenge and they should have better paid for an animated movie. I’m liking a lot how they are putting creativity on the movie.
I’m glad they’re not casting ultra-famous actors, actresses, singers that do as actors too and such, because there are pretty good “non-famous” actors out there. I see more important a good and believable acting, that an amazing look-like to the original character.
I utterly trust mr. Shyalaman and his judgment, and I know this movie won’t be one of the cheesy movies adaptated/based from a cartoon. I know this movie will stand up from all these. I like his movies because they always give you something to think about.
Peace, out!

I actually love how the arrow in Aang’s head looks! It’s not just a dull painted on arrow (I’m not insulting Aang’s own arrow, which is great for a cartoon, but in real life would look a little boring), it’s a combination of tattoos and the air symbol! And I like a lot the fire nation uniforms, I think Shyamalan is putting a lot in this movie. Yeah, this won’t be at all DB Evolution

Aw, ZUKO?! )’:
January 7, 2010 at 6:43 am |
i believe dev patel is a great actor in the film slumdog millionaire…
but he doesn’t quite fit to play zuko… he just doesn’t have the looks and the face to boot..
even noah does not look like aang.. although in the trailer he shows good skills…
and the costumes, i appreciate the production staff for doing their job but zuko’s men don’t look like zuko’s men in the series… and there’s this sort of dragonball live action film feeling into it as if everything is forced just to rake in money…

Well, I am not really a fan so far, from the two trailers, and various pictures. Someone says that they are not a racist, but, blah blah… I think what they are saying is there are noticeable skin tones on several of the Last Airbender characters, like Sokka and Katara having brownish tones, Toph being very white (maybe to imply an amount of time spent underground or out of the sun) and so on. Casting Zuko as dark skinned, and Sokka and Katara as light skinned is annoying, but I get that they pick who they think plays the role well, though I wish it would stick to the story more, because some of us really love the animated series that inspired this film, and everyone who loves the original story prefers to see a remake come closer than further. It would be a lot better story-wise for Zuko to have the ponytail, if not the bald head. Part of what the bald head does is accentuates the scar, which blatant as it is, really stands out without hair to tone things down. I really hope the makeup for the scar is better than what we are seeing, because it is so faint, you can barely even see it, and it is supposed to be a horrible mark of shame for him to bear his entire life. It looks like someone complained about the age of the actor for Aang, but he is only supposed to be 12, so he looks about the right age. I agree that it is better if they don’t use well known actors, that normally makes films more interesting. I can understand how they shouldn’t need to make every character exactly right to the cartoon, but there are things about each character that majorly affects the story and characters in particular (Zuko’s scar and heritage, Iroh’s weight and placid attitude, Aangs tattoo and age, etc.) so I think those things should be included when someone does a story that is supposed to represent the original story to an extent.

May 2, 2010 at 11:48 pm |
the kid that plays the avatar is alright but the other actors in this movie are the wrong people shouldn’t they be Chinese
June 19, 2010 at 7:18 pm |
I’m hating movie Zuko!!! He’s so far off of what he should be. I know he won’t be exact to the cartoon but really people… there is zero similarity
June 20, 2010 at 2:10 pm |
Dev (Zuko) is so cute! I lalso can’t wait til he can grow out his hair for the third movie.
