Airbender is “Sizzling!”

May 20, 2009

TLA producer, Frank Marshall, has commented on the supposed “mock up” trailer. He claims it to be “a sizzle reel for Nick Upfronts,” and not necessarily the basis for any future promotional material, including theatrical teasers or trailers.

In any case, it’s certainly wonderful to see some of the work that the creative team has put into the pre-production of the film. Here are a few more screenshots taken from the “Sizzle Reel.”

Possible CG Mock Up Teaser Leaked?

May 13, 2009

Youtube member, MrAvatard, uploaded this video earlier today. It appears to be a CG mock up of a teaser trailer for The Last Airbender, with concept art inserted throughout.

Very cool stuff if it’s authentic! In any case, it’s certainly a taste of things to come.

Update: It would appear that this was the real deal, as Paramount has since had the video removed from Youtube. However, I did manage to save a few more images from it before it was taken down.

Our First 100 Second Glimpse in 43 Days

May 12, 2009

Our favorite twitter loving producer just finished spending time with James Newton Howard and an ‘incredibly talented orchestra’ as they scored the teaser trailer for The Last Airbender, due June 24th attached to Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. The teaser’s official running time is reported to be 100 seconds in length.

We Have Visitors…

May 9, 2009

It would appear that some rather interesting visitors have shown up on the set of The Last Airbender over the last week or so. It’s been reported that Avatar co-creators Mike Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko paid a visit to the set last week, while some execs from Nickelodeon did the same yesterday. Filming is a bit ahead of schedule, but their plan is still to wrap it up by July 2nd.
