News from The Last Airbender producer Frank Marshall. Marshall posted on Twitter yesterday stating :
Not enough ILM shots finished, so LAST AIRBENDER trailer will not debut until Feb…
While this news crushes our anticipation of the trailer as a delightful X-mas present, we must remember that February is not that far away and continue to have patience.

Man, I am disappointed. I was actually quite looking forward to the trailer coming out. February isn’t that far away though, so I will survive…

Just a thought, if the trailer is going to be delayed because they are behind at ILM, could this be extrapolated to the release date as well? I mean they set a deadline for the trailer and couldn’t make it, who’s to say they’ll be able to make the deadline for the release?
On the other hand, pushing the release date back away from that God-aweful VINO (Vampire in name only) movie could mean it’ll do better in the box-office.

Well that sucks.
Surely they can release a ‘secinbd teaser’ that shows us more characters.
I mean, a full theatrical trailer wouldn’t really be ideal until sometime next year anyway.
December 4, 2009 at 10:49 pm |
I meant ‘SECOND teaser’ of course.
December 5, 2009 at 9:26 pm |
I think it’s a good thing they decided to delay it.
December 6, 2009 at 12:22 am |
Personally, I think Marshall’s just saying this so that when we go to a new movie this month, we’ll see the new trailer; an actual surprise if you catch my drift. But that’s just me
December 6, 2009 at 7:29 am |
i was actually thinking the exact same thing. just kept it to myself though
i hope so!
December 6, 2009 at 5:44 pm |
If Marshall is trying to suprise us he should attach the trailer to James Cameron’s ‘Avatar.’ Just saying.
December 7, 2009 at 2:18 am
I thought that was always the plan.
But no, I don’t think they’re trying to ‘trick’ us.
December 6, 2009 at 10:07 pm |
If only, if only.
Unfortunately I don’t think they’d lie about something like that, it just seems extremely unlikely.
December 8, 2009 at 8:53 am
yeah they wouldn’t, that’s why I doubt he’s just saying that.
he’d be lying to the public
December 7, 2009 at 2:48 am |
Dang, I have been waiting for this trailer for forever now!
Oh, well I guess I can wait until Febuary.
December 7, 2009 at 3:49 am |
I’m so disappointed… but this gives me even more to look forward to!
I mean, February isn’t that far off and it would be totally beyond awesome if they surprising us with the trailer, but I agree with the above post saying that they probably wouldn’t lie about something like the trailer.
They should release another teaser trailer of something.
Who knows?
In the past month my attitute towards this movie has really u-turned positivly.

I really don’t want the movie to come out anywhere near that vampire movie. It will look like it flopped compared to what eclipse makes. If they pushed it a week ahead of that. Or if (i pray) the eclipse movie is delayed, then Last Airbender can ride on the top of the box office for a while. I just really want it to do good. PLEASE let airbender get some media. I want to see the Gaang on Conan, Leno, letterman, Fallon and so forth.
Do we know the rating on Airbender? PG or PG13?
December 8, 2009 at 3:22 am |
Well, I think Shyamalan or someone from the crew said they didn’t want to get to the point where the movie is rated PG13, so my guess is it will be PG. ^^
December 8, 2009 at 8:56 am |
there’s no rating yet but it’ll probably be PG-13
December 8, 2009 at 3:32 pm |
I assume it’ll be PG-13.
In the interview with Rathbone he said that Night was going to give the characters some darker parts through out the movie and, while PG-13 does not equal darker, it does give Night more leeway.
Does anyone really have a preference on the rating?
December 11, 2009 at 9:40 am
yeah I’d rather have it PG13 cause then that means more fighting and action. and not too kiddish.
PG-13 would be perfect
December 8, 2009 at 7:53 pm |
Dang, i so wanted to see it. Well guess there is nothing we can do but wait
December 10, 2009 at 10:34 am |
i was so excited when they announced the realeased of trailer is on dec.25..
huh…now oh my!on febuary??!so far!
December 10, 2009 at 10:41 am |
Well I’m glad they’re not going to just rush something out to meet a deadline.
I’m sure some of us remember the fuss that was caused when the first trailer for THE HULK came out and the effects were nowhere near finished.
December 12, 2009 at 7:51 am |
noooooo!!!
AWWW COME ON!!! I was relying on that trailer premiere ): man, I was REALLY looking foward to see it! d’awww this sucks…. it kind of reminds me back in the old days when nickelodeon would make us wait months and months to release new chapters from the series… I just hope that pattern doesn’t repeat here S: Gahh… another two months u__u
December 12, 2009 at 12:55 pm |
I think it’s pretty funny how us, who are wanting to see the film, can hear such news and just shake it off. It shows our optimism.
December 12, 2009 at 10:55 pm |
omg I nearly had a heart attack! Lol
I had thought they said the MOVIE was pushed to February, so I was like “2011!?!?” Lol! Thank goodness it is just the trailer– that I can wait for.
I’m excited, but I’d rather the trailer be pushed back than the movie itself. If anything, the movie should come out ahead of the vampire crap movie, so that it doesn’t get swallowed by the following months of sales that will come from it. There’s a reason it’s called Eclipe
