Many of you may have noticed during the Winter Olympics a new TV spot for TLA. Paramount has been kind enough to share an HD version which can be viewed below.
Be sure to visit the LastAirbenderFilm.com YouTube account and watch this and other TLA trailers in 1080p.

Does anyone else think the scene when Aang airbends the door shut on the fire nation ship just creepily feel and look just like the show? I LOVE IT

In the scene with the bows coming behind the statues guess what those statues look like to me. THE PREVIOUS AVATAR STATUES at the temples!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh my gosh, I didn’t notice that until you said it!
I also thing that they’re the Yu Yan Archers! Mysterious…
And to Aang closing that Fire Nation door with airbending and porpells himself back… so cool!
I watch it over and over and over and over again and the epicness never gets old.

I think they indeed are. I see sequentially the water, earth, fire and air symbols on those statues.

Wait. If those are the previous avatars statues (and i really think they are, you can see Kyioshi!) and those archers are the Yu Yan archers, it would mean that they are linking those stories. Then Aang is taken to that prison, and the blue spirit rescues him. So… can someone tell me how many things they cutted off?

I’m not getting that excited for the movies. The trailers look great but the whole casting still makes me very angry…especially with the casting of Sokka and Katara. Has anyone noticed that in the main tralier, the part where it shows Sokka and Katara with the tribe, you see that all of the tribes people are all Asian and except for them?

No. If you look closely, there are some Caucasians in the back

Seriously?
NOBODY CARES ANYMORE.
It’s already been casted. Just get over it. Pouting in a corner will get you nothing and nowhere.

Well, the main thing is that asians can look identical to caucasians, and vice versa.
I don’t really mind it that much– I just wish they had gotten a tan first xD
btw– LOVE Katara’s hair in the movie.

Will you stop crying?

I”m looking very hard, but I can’t really distinguish the race. They look more like Inuit then Asian.

get over the whole “racebending” thing because it is too late and the movie is filmed and practically done. M. Night Shamalan himself is Indian or Asian so he is not being judgmental. He chose the cast because he believes they can do the part well and if it is different than the show than oh well. Tv shows to movies or book to movies are not always meant to be the exact same thing. I think personally that it will follow the show because the directors of the show co wrote the script with m. night.

What I’m afraid of after watching all the trailers is that the movie won’t capture the really funny moments that is very integral to the series. In the interview with M. Night Shamalan he said he was going to “ground” the series because they only appealed to children. While the series is pretty dark in concept it was good because it was balanced. I don’t want a serious Sokka! In any case in regards to the casting I’m sure the creators of Avatar won’t let Shamalan completely deface their show.. I hope T.T.

Well i think we’re gonna get a serious Sokka =P
But i think it’s ok… i mean: nothing will be better than the show, it was perfect. So think about the movie as a way to see Avatar again from a different point of view. A little bit darker maybe, more serious. I don’t know. I like it.
@Blake about the racebending thing, ok, M night is indian… and… oh, look! Zuko happens to be indian as well. It means we’re gonna have an indian Azula. And we all know the should be chinese. Dev Patel is a great actor and everything, but anyway i’m a little bit upset about this.

Ah.. now if they can do a sneak peak special then that would be even better. I was lit exciting.^.^
